Las Vegas – In the general public eye Cordell Broadus is the son of rap mogul Snoop Dog. On the football field the newly transferred Bishop Gorman product is a budding superstar making a name for himself.

Broadus, 6’3”, 186 pounds, has offers from across the nation including Florida State, LSU, Notre Dame, Tennessee, UCLA, Baylor, Arizona State, and Washington as a wide receiver. The biggest scholarship offers maybe from his dad’s backyard in USC. Snoop Dog has a long history of supporting the Trojans especially during the Pete Carroll era.

The California native transferred in the offseason from Diamond Bar to Las Vegas powerhouse Bishop Gorman. As a sophomore the strong handed receiver showed flashes of his growing abilities snagging 38 passes for 513 yards with 7 touchdowns. During his junior campaign the productivity increased with 60 catches for 685 yards with 8 scores.

Broadus still has some ground to gain on the field after being suspended for one game last season for throwing a punch at an opposing player.

The change in scenery may do the rising star of a famous father some good. Bishop Gorman has at least five players including Broadus who are expected to sign a Division-I scholarship as part of the 2015 class: Tight end Alize Jones, quarterback Danny Hong, defensive tackle Jackson Perry, and defensive back Nicco Fertitta.
