Boise State responded to its first conference loss of the season by bouncing back with a convincing win over Wyoming and now needs a second consecutive victory to remain atop the Mountain West Mountain division. UNLV is in search of its second conference victory and aims to snap a two-game losing streak.

Players to watch
  • Broncos safety Darian Thompson was named as a semifinalist for the Jim Thorpe award during the week. The senior has four interceptions and three pass breakups and leads Boise State with 49 tackles, 26 of which have been solo efforts. 
  • Wide receiver Devonte Boyd -- a preseason selection to the Biletnikoff Award watch list -- leads the Rebels in receptions (21), receiving yards (374) and touchdown catches (five). Boyd , who had four 100-yard games as a freshman, has yet to cross the century mark in a game this season.

  • Boise State leads the all-time series with UNLV 5-3 after winning the last three meetings.
  • The Broncos rank among the top 20 teams in the nation in scoring offense (38 points per game, 19th) and scoring defense (17.3 points per game, 18th).
  • Rebels head coach Tony Sanchez (41 years old) and Broncos boss Bryan Harsin (38) are among the 14 youngest head coaches in the FBS.
  • Broncos running back Jeremy McNichols returned from injury to set personal bests against Wyoming last week with 33 carries, 166 rushing yards and seven receptions.
  • UNLV ranks 19th nationally with 10 interceptions spread among nine players and is already three interceptions of ahead of its 2014 season total of seven.
  • Boise State allowed a season-high 110 rushing yards to Wyoming last Saturday, but still ranks fifth nationally and first in the Mountain West by conceding just 81.4 rushing yards per game to opponents.


  • Broncos senior offensive lineman Rees Odhiambo suffered a broken ankle in last week's win over Wyoming. He'll miss the rest of the regular season.
