For those readers out there who like action-suspense or thriller-horror movies, nothing could be any scarier or more suspenseful than watching Class of 2016 do-it-all athlete Ben Davis take the field. Turn on the creative side of your brain and image that you are in full football gear. A now 6-foot 4-inch, 230 pounds, linebacker/running back/tight end/wide receiver/safety who runs a 4.5 forty-yard dash is coming at you full speed!

The fear of God that Gordo High School’s Ben Davis puts into the opposition on both sides of the ball has college coaches clamoring to sign the stud prospect. National Signing Day 2015 just wrapped up and he already has 20-plus scholarship offers. Teams like Georgia, Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, LSU, Miami, San Diego State, Nebraska, Mississippi State, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Kentucky, and USC.

A question begging to be answered, where are the rest of the offers?

The build up to National Signing Day 2016 could be immense for select few teams as young Mr. Davis narrows down his list of contenders. Watching with a keen eye one year out, the prized recruit gave some thoughts on this year’s recruiting season.

Ben, what impressed you the most about the schools showing interest in you on NSD 2015?

“What impressed me was the number of recruits that USC and Alabama got.”

Were there any other schools that impressed you with the class that they signed in 2015? If so, which schools and why?

“Some other ones that impressed me were UCLA and Ohio State. They got a lot of good players.”

Did National Signing Day inspire you in anyway? If so, how and in what way?

“National Signing Day inspired me a lot knowing that I'm going to be doing all that in one year really makes me excited and in ready for it.”

Did anything about NSD change how you feel about the recruiting process good or bad?

“Nothing changed my thoughts on the recruiting process. I'm just enjoying it.”

Is there anything about the recruiting process that you would like see changed? If so, what and how would you change it?

“I don't think there is a problem with the process. I think it's great how it is.”

Have you started recruiting other players currently uncommitted to join you in 2016? If so, who and how are you recruiting them? What’s your pitch?

“I have not recruited anybody else. I'm still undecided myself.”
