MeKale McKay, a junior wide receiver for Cincinnati, had a breakout performance against the Toledo Rockets on Friday night, catching 9 passes for 175 yards and 1 touchdown. McKay was quarterback Gunner Kiel’s go to guy in the passing game in their 58-34 win at Paul Brown Stadium.

McKay has excellent size at 6’6 195-pounds and is a threat on the outside for the Bearcats. Cincinnati will definitely throw the ball a lot this season with Kiel at quarterback and McKay is a big receiver that can make plays.

McKay signed with the University of Arkansas coming out of Moore High School in Louisville, Kentucky. In 2012, he caught 21 passes for 317 yards and 2 touchdowns as a true freshman for the Razorbacks. He was a promising young receiver in the SEC, but decided to transfer to Cincinnati in 2013. He sat out all last season due to the NCAA transfer rules.
