Big 12 Recruiting: Baylor lands cornerstone OT from California
City College of San
Francisco has a long history of producing Junior
College National Championships, California State Championships, and Northern
California Championships. Along with the talent that comes to the Ocean Ave. campus
for up to two years are plenty of Division-I prospects.
On Monday Baylor pulled one of the top JUCO players in the
nation in offensive tackle Dominic Desouza.
Desouza, listed at 6’8”, 300 pounds, is the highly athletic
type of tackle Baylor head coach Art Briles likes to use to anchor his
high-tempo spread offense.
The Bears had targeted Desouza early trying to keep away Arizona State, Kansas, Mississippi State, Oklahoma
State, TCU, and Oregon
State, among others, from
landing the talented big man.
Baylor hosted Desouza on an official visit on Oct. 11, the
weekend the Bears knocked TCU from the ranks of the unbeaten (61-58).
The Bears now have 13 verbal commitments to their 2015
recruiting class with Desouza being the first out of state pledge and the third
