Class of 2016 5-star Quarterback Shea Patterson from Calvary Baptist Academy in Shreveport, LA has verbally committed to Ole Miss. With nearly 30 scholarship offers on the table, Patterson picked the Rebels over LSU and USC.

According to the Shreveport Times, the 5-star QB is expected to graduate high school in December and enroll in college for the spring semester, which would allow him to sign in late fall.

Originally, Patterson committed to Arizona as a freshman but re-opened his recruiting process in the summer before his junior season.

Patterson has led Calvary Baptist to consecutive state championships in 2013 and 2014. As a junior, Patterson threw for just over 2,400 yards and 38 touchdowns. In his sophomore season, he posted similar numbers with 2,655 yards and 34 touchdowns. Patterson has thrown only seven interceptions in the past two seasons.

NOLA.com rates Patterson as the No. 1 player in the state as part of their Nifty 50 Class of 2016.

Shea's brother, Sean Patterson is currently on the LSU staff but there have be reports that he may join the Ole Miss staff to help coach his younger brother. Shea committed to Arizona during his freshman season when Sean was on the Wildcats’ staff.

Patterson’s commitment is not binding until he signs a national letter of intent.
